PLANS
FOR NEXT MONTH
As
to the plans for the next month, we could say that after the
August summer break we will proceed with our work at full speed. A
three-week stay in Athens is stipulated for September for the
partner organisations representatives who underwent the training
in Serbia. There will be 60 more hours of training there. The
concept of the training is largely focused on showing the NGO
representatives from Serbia on the spot how the NGO sector in
Greece operates, what is the cooperation between NGOs and the
government like at all levels, what are their experiences from the
period of transition and how different social problems have been
solved. Visits to state institutions are stipulated as well as to
consulting centres involved in NGO cooperation issues. The
lecturers will be highly experienced people from the European
Community and their task will be to transfer as much practical
knowledge as possible to the participants and answer any dilemmas
or problems that are encountered but that may not be recognised as
such in NGO
work.
A
week of culture is also planned so that the Athens training
participants would be better acquainted with the Greek culture,
art and civilisation heritage.
In
October, further project activities will be taken over by the
local partners within their communities. A series of TV and radio
broadcasts will ensue as well as organising awareness meetings in
the towns of partner organisations aimed at promoting pluralism,
different views, stirring citizens to active participation in
solving local community problems, cooperation with other civil
society institutions and their strengthening, transfer of
knowledge and experience. At the same time, we will proceed with
the strengthening of the organisations as resource centres and
with supporting them with respect to technical, organisational,
documentation and information issues.
European
Perspective will be constantly present in the field as
coordinator, for the purpose of evaluation of the project’s
realisation as well as of providing assistance through knowledge
and skills, as necessary.
