CHOOSING
THE BEST VOLUNTEER IN TIMOK REGION
Within
the project “Timok volunteer programme”, supported by Freedom
House, the Timok Club announced a competition for the best
volunteer in Timok Region. The best volunteer candidates can be
volunteers from organisations, institutions, local authorities,
non-governmental sector, as
well as the individual volunteers acting in the territory of Timok
Region.
The
competition results will be revealed on 25 August 2002, and the
prizes will be given at the official ceremony during the “Balkan
NGO forum for cross-border cooperation” on 31 August in Soko
Banja. The best volunteer prizes are: a weekend in Soko Banja for
2 people, a weekend on Babin Zub for 2 people, T-shirts with the
best volunteer emblem, 10 one-day excursions….

WITH
STRATEGY INTO BETTER FUTURE
Supported
by Freedom House, the Timok Club will be organising seminars
titled “Strategic plans design for Timok Region
municipalities”. The seminars will be held from 8 to 10 August
2002 in Donji Milanovac, and from 29 to 31 August 2002 in Soko
Banja and will offer the possibility for each municipality to get
its strategic plan and its presentation. The greatest part of the
seminar will be devoted to the strategic plans design for each
respective municipality with the assistance of consultants, as
well as to the finalization of municipal strategic plans and
preparation of their video, computer or graphic presentation, in
the manner requested by each of the municipalities.

JOINT PROJECTS
The
Business Centre Delegation from Vidin in Bulgaria has visited the
Timok Club.
The
visiting delegation consisted of Mrs Zivka
Nikolova, Business
Centre
Director, Nina Nikolova,
Secretary General for Vidin
Region, and
Tidor Cekov, a
distinguished private entrepreneur from
Belogracik, Bulgaria.
The visit served as
continuation of concrete discussions on the realisation of joint
projects of Vidin Business Centre and the Timok Club in the domain
of small and medium enterprises development in
Knjazevac as well as
in the transfer of
positive experiences in this field from the Bulgarian partners for
the past ten years.
FIRST
TRAINING FOR THE ROMA FROM SOUTH-EAST SERBIA
Within
the programme of supporting projects related to Roma NGO activity
development and enhancement of Roma NGO competence necessary for
gaining the right to education
within the Centre for Interactive Pedagogy and in
cooperation with and the support of the Netherlands Embassy, The
Roma Association of Yugoslavia has organised the seminar: “Roma
NGO representatives training”, held on Babin Zub. The project
goals are the Roma NGO representatives training, improved
organisation and functioning of the Roma NGOs, training of the
Roma NGO representatives to, above all, face the negative
repercussions of their own inactivity coming out of their life
quality and the relationship of their surroundings towards them
and providing support in order to help them preserve their
identity and elements of their tradition and culture.
