NIS
As
to the activities of the civil society in our city we wish to
emphasize the work of the Forum for Civil Rights on the regional
project realised in cooperation with the Bulgarian
non-governmental organisation IRIS (Institut for Regional and
International Studies-Sofia) within democratization and local
development, referring to the exchange of positive experience
between Bulgarian and Serbian NGOs and the border area local
management. The project will provide conditions for the
establishment of forum for free exchange of experience and good
practice in the field of management on both sides of the border
between Bulgaria and Serbia. In the period from 5 to 7 July the
Bulgarian-Serbian Conference was held on Borovec, titled ''Civic
strategy initiative for mutual relations development''.

On
Monday 29 July 2002 Forum for Civil Rights organised a round table
in Babusnica with the presidents of municipal assemblies and
executive boards for border area municipalities. Representaives of
NGOs and the media were invited to the round table. This round
table was organised with a view to creating an alliance of border
area municipalities on both border sides with the goal to develop
better regional and border area cooperation, at the initiative of
Forum for Civil Rights.
