Cooperation
with the NGO CORPS - Leskovac
In
November, the Forum for Civil Rights established cooperation with
the NGO CORPS (Centre for Training and Development of Agriculture
and Village) from Leskovac. Among other activities, this
organisation is involved in educating rural population. Within the
project ''Behind the iron curtain'', realised by CORPS in the
territory of Bojnik Municipality, the Forum for Civil Rights has
participated in organising two forums and a workshop.
Trainers
from the Forum for Civil Rights,
Dragan Corbic and Slavisa Kovacevic were guests and
lecturers at the forums titled: ''History and development of
democracy and democratic relations'' and ''Elections and electoral
procedure''. The workshop held in Sijarinska Banja was titled
''Establishment and work of NGOs''. Jadranka Vukovic also
participated as a trainer at the workshop.
The
goal of this project is, among other things, work on solving
problems in the local communities of Bojnik Municipality. The
realisation of this project is to contribute the development of
better cooperation between the representatives of the local
government and political parties and the citizens of Bojnik and
the neighbouring villages, and the NGO sector representatives as
well.
Within
the project ''Promotion of pluralism by strengthening NGOs and the
civil society in Serbia'', the Forum for Civil Rights had a TV
broadcast in November, titled ''Cooperation between the NGO sector
and the local authorities''. The participants of the broadcast
were Olgica-Beba-Bajic from the NGO Society for the Development of
Creativity from Aleksinac and Jadranka Vukovic, as a
representative of the Forum for Civil Rights.
There
was also a radio broadcast titled ''Institutions and values of the
civil society''. The speaker was Slavisa Kovacevic, B.A. in
Political Science and Assistant Professor at Nis Law School.
There
was also a forum titled ''Basic values of democracy''. It lasted
over two hours. Although the number of participants was less than
50, a lively discussion developed at the forum between the
attendants and the lecturers. The participants expressed their
doubts and trepidations as to the further reform development of
Serbia, that is, the peaceful and
prosperous future of the citizens.
