From now on and in the future, Police made the decision to let different organizations dealing with defense of human rights to have access to all prisons in Kosovo. Police Commissar, Mr. Kai Vittrup, decided that members of CDHRF can have complete and free access to all police stations in Kosovo. Also, members of CDHRF, with the agreement by arrested people (pre-arrested), can talk with them and also with the members of KPS for specific cases - if some appeals exist from the accused people. Members of the Council and from NGO Kosovo Center for Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors will have right to access to all police stations. Main goal of this organization will be monitoring and training for all arrested and prisoners, their health situation and general conditions in prison: food, light, air-conditioning etc. Related to this issue, Deputy Commissar of KPS, Mr. Sheremet Ahmeti, mentioned that “Defense of the human rights in democratic society is basic and primary task of all members of KPS in Kosovo”. Members of those two organizations will be identified by their ID cards, which will be provided by KPS.
