PROFESSOR DR CEDOMIR CUPIC AS A LEADER OF THE LECTURE
REGARDING MORALITY AND ETHIC

MORAL MAN IS FREE MAN

          * Within the project titled: “Promotion of pluralism by the strengthening NGOs and the Civil Society in Serbia” implemented by the Alternative Civic Pariament, pupils from Second, Third and Forth High School from Paracin had the opportunity to participate at the lecture concerning morality that was held on May 19 in the School Library by the Professor Cedomir Cupic.

Initial studies regarding morality date from ancients Greeks who considered that the whole World has to be in need of five saint ideas: truth, justice, well-being, love and beauty. Moral is occupied with the third idea – well-being and study of the mentioned well-being was named ethic – emphasized Professor Cupic at the beginning of his lecture. Human nature – nature of the cultural human being is the fact that separates man as a biologic individual from animals. Traditional, moral, religious and legal standards limit our cultural being and as they become stronger, as we become more cultivated individuals. Very important characteristic of the moral man is not to accept the job that could not be well done because by this way man “produce” harmful consequences for himself and the local community as well. Moral men are those who are “by themselves, with themselves and for themselves” - said Professor Cupic quoting the Greek philosophs. According to the Cant’s study, moral man can be only free man, and freedom implies right of life, right of disposal with own body and right of ownership. Within the society with negative legislation or where the positive legislation does not function, there is no freedom and the struggle against this is civic disobedience. In this case citizens need to have clearly defined requests and exclusively peaceful struggle. Brave and moral man – as a citizen – is real, serious, responsible, patient and persistent and his aims are human and aims of public interest – it could be heard at the morality lecture of the Professor Cedomir Cupic. Meeting with pupils from high schools lasted more than two hours and half and on behalf of Professor Cupic this was only introduction in the story about this detailed theme. After meeting it was organized the TV broadcast with the topic “Corruption”.
